DESCRIPTION:
VIEW A — Fringe Shade is fully lined and features rows of plastic rings stitched to the back and threaded with Roman shade cording, enabling shade to be raised and lowered. A row of decorative trim highlights the bottom edge. Your fabric width determines the width shade you can make as there is no seaming — see Fabric Requirement Charts for size range. Shade is easily stapled to a 1″ × 3″ (2.5cm × 7.5cm) pine mounting board.
VIEW A — Fringe Valance is 8″ (20cm) deep and self lined. Side and center pleats provide a decorator touch to this valance along with a row of trim that highlights the bottom edge. Valance is easily stapled to a 1″ × 3″ (2.5cm × 7.5cm) board and can be made for board widths 30″ to 60″ (75-150cm).
VIEW B — Flounce Cornice is contrast lined and features two contrast flounces and end pleats revealing contrast fabric. The center and side depth of the cornice is 18″ (45cm). This treatment can be made for board widths 30″ to 60″ (75-150cm). Cornice is stapled to a 1″ × 6″ (2.5cm × 15cm) pine mounting board so that the banded panels will fit easily beneath the treatment.
VIEW B — Banded Side Panels are stationary, made from one panel of fabric each, providing a decorative touch at the sides of your window. A 2-1/2″ (6.25cm) contrast fabric band highlights the leading edges of each panel. The panels are mounted on a 1″ (2.5cm) wide curtain rod hidden from view beneath the board mounted cornice.
VIEW C or D — Empire Swag is contrast lined and features a varying number of swags and trumpets depending on the board width. There is one swag and two trumpets for board widths 28-35″ (70-87.5cm), two swags and three trumpets for board widths 36-54″ (90-135cm), three swags and four trumpets for board widths 55-80″ (137.5-200cm), and four swags and five trumpets for board widths 81-108″ (202.5-270cm). The depth of the swag is either 17″ or 20″ (42.5 or 50cm). VIEW C SIDES can be made 17″ or 20″ (42.5 or 50cm) long depending upon length of swag. Cording trim is featured along the entire bottom edge. VIEW D SIDE TAILS can be made in three lengths - 30″, 34″ and 38″ (75, 85, 95cm). Tassel fringe highlights the bottom edge. VIEW C Empire Swag with side panels is stapled to a 1″ × 6″ (2.5cm × 15cm) pine mounting board so that panels can be mounted easily beneath the swag treatment. VIEW D Empire Swag with side tails is mounted on a 1″ × 3″ (2.5cm × 7.5cm) pine mounting board.
VIEW C — Lined Side Panels are stationary, made from one panel of fabric each, providing a decorative touch at the sides of your window. The panels are mounted on a 1″ (2.5cm) wide curtain rod hidden from view beneath the board mounted treatment.
SUGGESTED FABRICS:
ALL VIEWS: Decorator fabrics such as cottons, linens, cotton/polyester blends. Silk-like polyester fabrics can also be used. NOTE: Pure silk is not recommended since silk fabrics are prone to sun damage and require interlining. Interlining instructions are not included in this pattern.
VIEW A: Select a coordinating fabric for the shade valance.
VIEW B: Select a contrast fabric for flounces and end pleats on Cornice and bands on Side Panels.
SUGGESTED LINING:
VIEW A Shade, VIEW B and C Side Panels: Select a white or off-white drapery lining fabric. Sun resistant or water resistant linings are recommended.
VIEW A Valance: Valance is self-lined. Fabric requirement chart for valance includes self lining.
VIEW B Cornice, VIEW C or D Swag: Entire cornice/valance is lined in contrast fabric. We suggest selecting a solid fabric as prints or stripes may show through the front of the valance in sunny windows.
PURCHASE LINING SAME WIDTH AS FACE FABRIC, IF AVAILABLE.
